hi,to all
am a dv 2008 winner,replied all the forms,back to KCC.
my case number is 2008AF00001xxx,
and the post is nairobi.
when will i receive the second letter?was i disqualified?the visa bulletin,indicate that am current?
please assist me with some information,,,that am missing

You need to call KCC or send email to them..If you were late to post your form back to KCC you will receive 2nd letter lately. But your case number quite low, maybe your 2nd letter got lost, maybe something happened with postal service, etc.

Phone number is written on you notification letter. I would call them instead of wasting more time with the email.
 
Thanks for the mail. I still feel there some nonchalance of some kind some where. I gather both co and ambassador are new. You cannot immagine that the fellows have not given a dv visa to any body interviewed in november. I personnaly know 11 persons in this situation.
I was even wondering if there is no institution in the US to whom the embassy could be reported. It is, to say the least, frustrating.
AS an older side in the forum i still strongly feel you could post something for cameroonians so that we could share our joys and sorrows there and help out winners and prospective applicants.

Hello nice people of this forum,

I am desperate, this is been the longest waiting of my life. I was notified as a winner of the DV-2008 back in April, I received the first letter around the 10th, the letter was marked as written March 12.
But, as today, December 5th I haven;t received the second letter yet and I am beggining to loose hope. I've read in this forum that lots of people have received the second letter in September and October and already have had interviews, so, is it over for me?
I contacted my embassy, sent them an e-mail to an information address than they have about inmigration issues and they told me that do not have my file or any archive with my name. I am afraid of contacting the KCC because they make clear in the letter, do not contact us, we will contact you, etc.
My Case Number is 2008SA0000.... am i supposed to write it all down? is it safe???
Can anyone help me??? give me some valuable info, I do not know who to ask,

Call KCC and give them your case number and get neccessary information.
Also send them an e-mail with your name, case number, date of birth and get needed information. It is okay to call/e-mail them; they are very nice and helpful.
By the way, when you write your case number in this forum, use this format-
10xxx-. Leave the last 3 digits as xxx.

If you would have paid better attention to the messages on this forum, you would have realized that when you have your interview depends on your case number. If you have a very low one, you might have (had) it in October, if you have a very high one, you might have to wait until September 2008. You are responsible to check which numbers are current on http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1770.html If your number is below the one listed for your region in the advanced notification section, you should send KCC an email with your name, case number and date of birth, and ask them whether there has been an interview scheduled for you. The second letter with the interview date is supposed to arrive a few weeks prior to the interview, however, it might be late or even get lost. Therefore YOU have to make sure you know when you're supposed to have your interview.

Thanks so much guys for your help, so, I checked the visa bulletin and the numbers available for my region are still low for December and the January projection but probably I will be in if there are still numbers available in February, right? so that means that I can still get the chance for the CP, right?
 
Of course you still have a chance!!! There are interviews throughout the fiscal year (end of September) (unless the maximum number gets reached before that)! You could look through the bulletins of previous years to get an idea of how it works.
Btw: the bulletin for the following month usually gets published around the 15th, and it also includes advanced notification for the month afterwards.

According to the visa bulletin the cutoff number that will apply for my region (SA) in January is 1075, since I have a CN almost 20 numbers higher does that mean that in February, when in theory more numbers will be available, my CN will make the list and they will be able to notify me with the second letter? if that is the case will they mail it in February or March? how many numbers do they usually assign per region? there is probably an average number per region, right?
Sorry for all the questions but I am clueless and I am trying to understand and go through the process of waiting with the less possible anxiety. Do you guys think I still have a shot based on my CN number?
Again, thanks for your help, it's nice to be able to share my doubts and feelings through this experience with people who actually understand.

I have gathered some of the documents but most of them I think are asked for in the 2nd NL, right?
The thing is I do not know or understand how a Cn becomes current, can you explain that for me please? and based in my CN do you thing that I might have a shot?

I do think you have a shot. If the visa bulletin for december 2007 anticipates the cutoff numbers for South America in January to be at 1075, then you should expect your number to become current in February. that means you should be receiving the 2nd NL some time in January. To become current, your CN should be lower than the cutoff number reported in the visa bulletin for that month. For example, if you number is lower than 1075, that mean that you should have your interview some time in January.

To check the day/month of your interview you should call KCC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The phone number for the KCC should be at the bottom of the first NL.

I believe that the visa bulletin for january 2008 should be available some time after the 15th of december. you can check the visa bulletins at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1770.html

If I were you I would go ahead and gather all documents requested except for the medical exam.

@ Soleil: Do you expect the people from the forum to do everything for you??? You are supposed to have at least a highschool degree or enough work experience, so you should be able to read and follow instructions so stop being lazy and don't expect us to tell you things over and over again which we've already explained to you! The thread by Catseyes which I sent you before contains most of the information which you need.
 
2NL has no new infor except for appointment DO SOME RESEARCH

I agree with Igmu you are responsible for checking wheter your number becames current or not, the visa buletin it's not that hard to understand and from your post I can see that your english it's not that bad.

I recommend you to call KCC after the 16th once the Dec. visa bulletin becames available, only them they have the scheduled appointments for February, KCC is really efficient I got my second envelope exactly one month b4 the interview.

Some where in the threads look for a thread under my name it has some details about the 2nd envelope.

You should be getting you docs ready for what I can see you have a really good shot on getting a GC so get off your couch and do some research people in this forum are really helpfull and we/they give out their time freely so let's not waste ours/their time with questions that have been answer a zillion times already...DO SOME RESEARCH.
