I am a J2 visa holder and I have EAD, my spouse is a resident on J1. I have been in the USA for 15 months, I want to work as a self funded research fellow but I am facing many logistical issues regarding my visa type, I was told I could change from J2 to J1. my question is could I change from J2 to J1 after 15 months of being in the USA, second I know that J1 should have a sponser and in my case i will be self funded so how it will work? Is there is any suggestion for how can I work as a research fellow in my case, last could I work as a research coordinator with J2 and work permit
