Help in filing I-485 please

My company is in New Jersey. I got labor and I-140 approved from VSC.
Now my attorney is saying that he will file the I-1485 in CSC because I live in California. Is this a problem.

What happens if he files in Vermont Service Center?

Thanks in advance.

485

485 can be filed either in location applicant stays or location of 140 approval.
If the attorny is not wanting to file at VSC..why dont you file on your own.

Please help! GCCrusader!

Hi GCCrudader,
I just got the 140 approvedd, can I apply the EAD(work permit for my spouse) in any location where she can get it just within one week. Do I have to apply that in the location where 140 approved, it will last 90 days. she want to start her job as soon as possible. If you have any idea about that, please give me thguidance.e.

with best wishes!

Cheng...Work permit...

Once you get your 140 apporval in hand, you have to still apply for 485 and with the 485 you can apply for EAD and AP for your self and spouse.
BEst is to file for EAD with your 485 and wait for INS to send it.
I have seen postings where people have got their EAD fron VSC in 40 days..at the present.
ANd if you dont get it in 90 days you can then go to the local INS and show them your 485 recipt and get the interm EAD.

You can file 485/EAD/AP one of the two locations
1.The location/INS center where your 140 was approved
2.The location/Ins center where you reside.

 hope this helped

I agree with GCCrusader

I\'d file it at VSC. VSC has been moving fairly quickly lately and my experience with VSC is better than CSC.

Hi GCCrudader,
Thank you for your information, it helps me a lot. Can you please tell me how I can check the track of EAD from VSC.

Wish the best for you!
