Hi,

I got laid off from the sponsoring company within 180 days. The company
will keep helping me for GC processing. I would like to keep myself
in the payroll list until 180 days. But I do not know how to do that ?

1) If I pay myself, is personal check OK? , or cash ? It will cost a lot
of money. Is there any way to do that ? Like leaving without pay ?

2) I searched this broad and was told that you can keep in payroll list
by leaving 6 months withour pay ?
What it mean ? If I ask the company do this way for me, is it mean that
I got 0 payecheck from company ?

Check with your lawyer for leave without pay .

In order to get paid , do sub contracting . Work for some
one else , but ask them to pay your company
corp - corp so that u get the pay check from your company .

Sorry to hear about your situation. I wish you get a job soon.
You can do following things to protect your status.

1) If you have time and start a company either on your/wife\'s name and pay your (employer) the same amount what you will get paid. Ofcourse you may have to bear the taxes they pay for you too. By this method you can keep your status and parallely look for any job that will support you and your family.

2) If you donot have time (to start a company) find any friends\' company or smal consulting company who can do the above process for you.

I hope this helps.
But also I read some postings here and other websites that, once your AOS is pending, temporary unemployment is not a problem. Your sponsor has to show that your job is available in future. Check USVISANEWS.com and murthy.com.

Good luck.
