HELP: HELP: HOW TO CHECK STATUS ON "SECURITY CHECK"

I received a letter from USCIS saying that my case was pending on so called "security check".

first of all, I am not sure whether this "security check" is the FBI name check. If they are the same thing, can somebody tell me how long it usually takes to complete such a check, and also how I can check the status of this procedure. If they are not the same thing, what, excuse me, the hell is this thing?

Secondly, my case i-485 was filed on Oct 2002. Is there anyway I can expedite the process.

My name check is pending at FBI as well and it has been five months. I tried everything I could, but it seems nobody could help. I was told the only thing I can do was to wait.

Name check

Hello confused,

How do you know that your name check is pending? Please help me .
