My I-485 seems to have been denied. I haven't received a denial notice, have no idea of the reason for denial, nor does the case status online reflect denial. I am running out of time to file a motion to reconsider ( hardly 10 more calendar days) since the denial seemed to have happened 20 days ago. Please see my thread for details

Since I am growing doubtful if all other efforts to get hold of my denial letter could produce results in such a short time, I am considering about approaching the local INS - New York to gather any info I can ( cause and date of denial, if not anything more )
Any one who has experience with getting info from local INS- New York or has any thoughts on this, please guide me on how to go about this..
