Looking for the suggestion and may be help to others...I talked to IIO three or four times and everytime I got
different reply someone says if you will not get approval aroudn christmas then call again..after christmas I
called again then she said hopefully in first week of Jan\'02 and then I talked in first week in Jan\'02 then
IIO said wait for couple of month. then I apporached to local Congressman office and my attoreny. Both the people
got different answers from IIO, From Congressman office he said add \'90 days\' in your ND means
It will come in mid of FEB\'02,....and my attoreny says IIO told her that wait another 6 month..
means I-485 will take one year and six month for the approval.
But I checked on this board lot of people received the Approval after my ND and RD...
My ND is nov\'23,00 and RD is Oct\'00....//
My company laid off all the group from my company and luckly I am saved but I do not about my status ....
That is why I made the calls to IIO to get the exact status..//

..//

What is your EB?, RD and ND?.....more...

There was one guy couple of weeks back posted that he got RFE because
he called AVM so many times. I didn\'t believe though.
But it was his idea.
It all depends on the mood of the officer who opens your file
first time. If he is good that day, you are approved same day.
If not or your file is bigger/messy/complicated, he may -
remember I am saying, he MAY keep it away for a while and that
makes a delay from couple of weeks to couple of months!!.
Its only my theory, don\'t believe it if don\'t want to.

Thx
PS: Delete your duplicate posting. That makes the board messy!??

Thanks and here is my case detail..//

Thanks..//

EB-2 RIR India..PD: Aug\'99 and RD: Oct\'23,00 and ND: Nov\'24,00 and LIN-01-040-5XXXXXX

485check,

Your ND is only 24th Nov. I would say NSC is processing Dec\'00
cases. You remember that processing has a Window of ND filing Period.
So, I would say the window is files having NDs in Oct-Jan 2000.
So, your case is within
the window. So, you must wait at least one to two months.
Calling NSC every week is not all that good. I understand your
Job issue. But, we have no choice. Just wait.
Also, NSC processing time is 12 months. So, to tell a cases is
really delayed, it should be at leas 2 months delayed from the current
processing dates! Right? Mere 1 or 2 weeks delay doesn\'t sound
all that great to make expediency in your case.

If nothing happens in the middle/late of Feb, you can approach
a congressman/senator.

Thx

by the way, what do they check when they look at the pile of photocopies

and few filled out applications? do they punch in your I-94 card
numbers and try to make sense out of it if you were not out
of status etc? I heard that IIO usually has less than 15 minutes
to work per case. The pile they have in front is huge, hundreds of
files assigned per IIO.

Its up to our imagination as what they do.

I agree with you that Adjudicators have only 15 mins or approx. to deal with each case. (Average time).

This is how it works:

NSC received approx. between 80000 and 100000 I485 applications.
They have about 10-20 ( I don\'t know exact, but certainly not more
than 20 according to some previous AILA reports) Adjudicators for I485.

If you do a math: 100000/20 = 5000 cases for each person in Year.
They have about 200 working days,
5000/200 = 25 cases per day. If you remove coffee time and gossip time, they have only 15 mins. You are right!

This work is not any different from Assembly Line cranking worker!.
They are also human beings.

NSC is doing okay these days, atleast from last One year.

They messed up my I140 for 9 months, but now I140s are approved
in 80 days max.
