help for SSN issue

I filed my SSN application with EAD three months ago. But I do not receive any notice until now. Every time I called the social security office, they always said that they were waiting for the result from INS.

How do I know if INS processes my case? Which INS office do they process the checking for SSN, the service center or the local office? Can I write a letter to the director of the local SSO? How can I do for my SSN except waiting?

It took nearly 3 months for my wife to get her SSN after the EAD. This delay is started happening after this Jan'02. So Don't worry.

SSN and Three Months Thats not true.

I got my wifes SSN in 2 weeks. I don't think it takes that long.. Why can't you visit the Local SSN Office and find out..
One thing sure happened, First time when they send it got lost in mail and then we got the seeecod one in One week time..


if you call them they will tell yours wife SSN # after 1 week..

3 months may be long

my wife got in a month in state of maryland
this year beginning. they also told they will do INS checks etc
and wait 2-3 months, but it came fast

I filed the application at the beginnig of June. I called the local office twice before Aug, then I visited the office on Aug. 12 again and asked them what happened. The officer just told me this afternoon that they sent the copy to INS again on Aug. 12, so I must wait for 10 to 12 weeks from this date.

Can I file an application at another local office? Maybe I can get the SSN sooner than the first office.
 
it is like this

SSN process takes 2 to 2.5 months......just walk to SSN office again- they will verify the info through the web(secure) and u'll get it.....it is happen to me in Jersey City, NJ
 
Believe it or not !!!!

I added my wife to my AOS application in march and got her EAD approved. We applied for her SSN at the local SSA office last thursday i.e.29th August.

Guess what we have her SSN card in the mailbox today ie in a span of 7 days......... :D

So I don't think it takes 2-3 months for getting SSN. Pl. follow up with the local office.........

My wife applied in first week of june 02. With in a week I called and got the number over the phone. After 2 two days the card arrived. For my wife it took only two weeks.
 
Guys...u got to consider the location and State

Nobody is writing about their location......Guys...u got to consider the location and State

it differs from state to state and county to county
