I'm filing a petition for my father, the I-130 and I-485 concurrently. There is a question on the I-485 asking if he has ever been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, convicted or imprisoned for violating any law or ordinance. Now, about 20 years ago my parents had a fight, I 'm not sure if the cops were called, but both say they don't remember any arrest taking place. The only thing that happened was that my mom filed for a temporary restraning order (TRO) and child support. It was granted at the court and my father was told to take anger management. Later though my mom went back and removed the TRO and child support because my parents came to an agreement and everything went back to normal. I don't think there were any criminal charges, it was all I think civil courts. My question is for that question I mentioned earlier on the I-485 could I still put "no" he has never been arrested, cited, etc. since it was not criminal. And my other question is would the TRO show up on his record when the INS does the background check and how would this affect his application. Do we need to mention this incident?
