Hi, Gurus,
Please help me or guide me what I should do now. I have an expunged criminal conviction and have an interview in the 2 weeks. Please advice me what I should do. Should I go with the attorney or take records of court to the interview. Anybody with this kind of situation, please help me....help me...

First of you need CERTIFIED CASE DISPOSITION ...that is a must for interview.
then depend on original filing of I485 if you answered YES to question "have you ever been arrested.." you don't need a lawyer......if you answered NO then I would consult lawyer.

Need help for good immigration attorney to represent my case

What is expunged criminal conviction? Could you describe what the criminal convication is?

Lawyer is a good choice since this is a final stage and make your case safe. Since it only takes the lawyer no more than 3 hours(suppose 1.5 hours review and 1.5 hours interview), I believe it is not a big cost.

Interview over - relaxed - approved...relieved

:) Thx for the suggestions . Today 11:00 am was the interview. Went with the lawyers and everything went smooth. Anwsered the questions related to the conviction and office was nice. (african american lady was the officer). Attorney was a real help. Thank god ...finally it is over...

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations lnaidu!

Can you please provide more details on the type of questions asked, the required documents, and in what way the attorney was helpful?

Thanks.

Post your experience

Could you please post your INTERVIEW experience.

In what way the presence of Lawyer was good for you ?

Type of questions asked and attorney use

Name/date of birth/place of birth/SSN/verification of parents names...
same employer or not...
I-485 application questions related to polygamy etc,. including conviction or arrest or etc,.
The attorney jumped and gave a good explanation for the above question....
Interview was very cool and casual( I was bit nervous but really went very well...) and attorney was talking most of the time to immigration officer (general things and not related to the case..okay...that way office will be in general or good mood...)

documents asked in the interview

current year tax returns, case disposition proof documentation, employment letter, any previous/current EAD's

Inaidu: What was the conviction (offense) for u? When was it? Was this your immigration lawyer ( who filed your GC or just some lawyer who you contacted to represent you). Which office did you visit? Did you just take the case disposition copy from court for the interview? I have sent that to my lawyer to attach when filing for my I-485.
Am in a simialr situation and therefore the Qs.
