Help, EAD: Request for Evidence 70 days after application????

I just received request for additional evidence 70 days after I filed for my EAD i765. How can this be so? Why wait until till now to request? I guess they just started processing it. I will send the additional evidence right away.

My question is; How does this affect the timeline of my application? Do I have to wait another 90 days or will it be processed rapidly once they receive the additional docs? What can I do?

No. You don't start a new 90 days. Once you send them the evidence that they are seeking, then they will immediately continue processing it. In the meantime, the timeline will be held at 70 days, which means if you send the RFE 10 days from today, your case will still be at 70 days until they receive it and process. Overnight the RFE response and use delivery confirmation...:)

Thanks. I was asking the CS rep about what day the processing day will start again from after receiving the additional request , but the rep could not clearly answer my question.
 
Don't worry about number of days, just repond to the RFE promptly and you will be good. I was in a similar situation and post RFE response, the GC was almost immediately approved.
