Help!! EAD Approved, I485???

Hi Gurus,

Please throw light ..

I-485 RFE sent by lawyer and response received by USCIS on OCT 26th, since my 2nd EAD was expiring on Feb 21st 2005, I filed for early EAD renewal (RD OCT 29th), checks cashed and EAD approved on NOV 5th, lost 3 1/2 months!!! current EAD valid till feb 21, 2005, there is a overlap of 3.5 months :(, I had clearly stated in the letter to renew from the start of expiration of current EAD.

I thought my EAD renewal will trigger approval of 485, no LUD updates since receipt of RFE response, I am kinda confused as to what is happening in my case????

Technically speaking, your EAD approval has nothing to do with your I-485. Therefore, it would not necessarily trigger I-485 approval or I-140 approval. You are eligible for unlimited number of renewals as far ar your I-485 is pending. It is a remedy provided to immigrant visa applicants to enable them work legally while I-485 is being processed. In the other words, EAD allows I-485 applicant to work legally without any visa status, as pending I-485 is an evidence of the immigration status.

Rosaly. Should have applied after 2 months of FP

AS per my view looking at forums.. People who have applied for Ap/EAD after 2months of FP recently got tiggered 485 cases. You should wait for 2 months after FP to see if 485 get approved if not you should apply for renewal, it have tiggered for many people...

BUt some cases still might be left depending on the case.
