HELP!!! EAD Approval AVM

My EAD has been approved per AVM. Can one start working with
the EAD approval notice or does one have to have the pysical card.

Also what is current expected time it takes to get the card.

Please advise. Thanks!!

One of my friends told me the actual card is necessary. But somebody in this board said you can start to work immediately.

Can you tell me what\'s your EAD ND?

If AVM says your EAD is approved and you satisfy 90 day rule, you should get interim EAD from local INS office. Do not rely on receiving the card in mail- In my case, EAD was applied in Sep 2000, Received the Receipts from INS in Sep 2000, EAD approved on Jan 19, 2001, No card received yet in the mail. AVM says EAD card has been ordered and you should receive it in 120-140 days. I went to INS SFO and got my card.

My attorney prepared the app & docs which I had taken to INS SFO. Following is what I had-
1. I-765 App
2. I-140 Approval Notice
3. I-485 Receipt
4. EAD App Receipt Notice
5. My expired EAD card (my case was EAD Renewal)

Hope this helps.

Techinically speaking, you must have the card in hand
and fill out an I-9 form before you can start working.
