I have to go for passport stamping and would appreciate if somebody can let me know how to get to NWK BCIS by car from Edison/Woodbridge area. Is parking available nearby?

Don't want to rely on Mapquest as NJ has too much construction going on.

You are right there is lot of construction activity since last 1 year.

If you don't want to get struck in traffic ( you might have to add additional 45 minutes to 1 hr) go by train to newark penn station, and can walk down.

Train best...

Train is the best option. There should be lots of NJ Transit trains from Edison/Metropark to Newark Penn station and BCIS office is a short walking distance. Also, weekday parking may cost you at least $10.

Thanks for the replies.

I found that there the cab from NWK train station takes about $4 to the BCIS building.

Just a note if you are considering NJ Transit - the trains can be extremely unreliable at times. Only yesterday (May 20th), NJ Coastline was out of operation for almost the whole day and NJ Transit did not even provide an alternate bus service. So be careful with the train, allow for an extra 90 minutes and keep a backup plan.

I believe it is not the same location. Passport stamping is at broad street whereas the FP is done at the office at Commerce Street. Please check before you go.

thanks. but my wife is PG and she would want a cab if it is more than 5 minutes walk.

is there anyone

who has driven to newark BCIS from northern NJ ? I would have thought that traffic mght not have been an issue , but after reading the posts here , i think otherwise.

Any suggestions what time would be appropriate ?

Thanks

i drove for my FP

Hi,

I drove to Newark - Commerce Street for my FP in Feb 2003 and found no problems. The route I took is 80 East to 280 East and off exit 13 or 14 (don't remember) .. It is then a straight road and commerce street comes to your right. There is lot of public parking and you can park and walk.

I used directions from Mapquest and it is quite reliable.
