Hi everyone, we did AC140. Interviewed on 04/20/05. The consulate told us that they need Advisory Opinion from Department of State as our work area is sensitive to national security. They told us that it takes 2-3 weeks to do the check. However, now 6 weeks passed and our case is still under review by DOS.
So what do you guys think that causes the delay? Is it because that we are AC140 case that our copy of I140 was mailed directly to the consulate, so that DOS won't have our file on hand, now if they need to do this job-related check, they require that our I140 file to be sent to them from the Consulate or even TSC (where our I140 was processed)?
I have heard that asking the Congressman or Senator may help. So in this case, which one we should contact, COngressman or Senator? In addition, which department we should ask them to contact, DOS or the Consulate?
