HELP: Case undergoing "detailed review". What does this imply?

Hi all,
This is the first time I am posting on this forum. Please provide any info you might have.

Here are my stats:
485 receipt date: Jan 30, 2004
Fingerprinting: April 28, 2004 Wife's on June 1 , 2004 (as she was out of country)
Received EAD and AP in March 2004


LUDs: June 2004, July 30, 2004, October 1, 2004, November 24, 2004(most likely in response to inquiry)

I faxed in an inquiry about the status of my case in September. I received a reply dated November 22, 2004 which states that my case is undergoing "DETAILED REVIEW". As far as I understand, this is not the standard reply they give to most inquiries.

A friend of mine says this means they have randomly picked my case for a more-than-normal thorough investigation and this could delay my case.

Does any one know of other such cases and what this entails? Also is there anything I can do to expedite the process.

A lot of people that filed with me and after me are getting approved. So this is is disconcerting especially since the official 485 date for the CSC is now in Feb 2004 when I applied in Jan 2004.

most likely meaning ...they are waiting for your name check results...as many of us are waiting for the same thing and getting same response.
and just to make you feel better...I am waiting with RD - 18th Dec 2003. and I know lot more are waiting who applied even before me.

Did you also get the "undergoing detailed review" line? How come not everybody has to go through the name check?

The wait really sucks but it's good to have the company of others :) (Misery loves company :-))
 
I am the oldest pending case.

My RD is Nov. 21, 2001. Still pending for name check result. I am afraid I am the oldest case in the forum.

Hi,

I think it doesn't matter what the receipt date is. The way they process the cases from now onwards is based on the priority date. Because of eb3 retrogression. So even if the name check is cleared, if PD is not before jan 2002, cases will not be cleared
