Help! A#

Can anybody tell me what A# is? There is a number A97 xxx xxx in my I-485 receipt notice (above the applicant name) (from Vermont Center). But my previous EAD card (expired) for OPT has a number 135-xxx-xxx different from the above one which is clearly identified as "INS A#" (from Nebraska Center). Which one should I use for AP application? Thanks for your help.

Forget about OPT EAD cards and the related Alien number. Your current alien number is from I485 only.
