Please let me know if any one has idea how 180 day rule is applied. I filed my I-485 in 10/00 (ND 11/00) I got an RFE in 04/01 for new I140. However, my lawyer had already filed for new I140 in 03/01 which got approved on 08/10/01. My I485 is still not approved. In case of a lay-off am I okay now or is there different interpretation of 180 day rule in case of a RFE ?

Before you switch job, better consultant a immigration lawyer. For my understanding, you should be fine to swith job now. Good Lucky!

you can switch job by using EAD or file new H1 from new company. your GC will continue. switching on H1 is more advisable, per few immi. lawyers. confirm with yours too.
