Hello, time-frame for receiving 485 receipt notice

Hello,

Do anybody have idea about the time its taking now to receive 485 receipt notice? Heard that, if we travel we need to show H1B approval notice and AOS receipt at the port of entry. Is it true ?

currently they are processing mail received on 6/20.If you are on a valid H1B you can travel using the same.But better you are back during approval.
