hello everyone,

here is my case:

TSC, EB2, PD: July 2001,
I140: ND - March 2004, AD: Feb 2005
I485: ND - March 2004, waiting...
FP: 1st Nov2004, something wrong with it, did it second time, on Jan of 2005

Today, I called the TSC center, the lady told me that,

1. my FP does not have a photo, but nobody ever asked me to take a picture.
2. my name check is still pending...

my question is:

1. when did the name check start? the lady told me that my name check started with the FP, but my second FP was in Jan of 2005, how can it be still pending for 8 months?
2. what is the FBI phone I can call to confirm the pending?
3. what about the photo? did you guy do a photo when you did the FP (my FP code was 1).

Hi,
I know there is an email for FBI enquiry and a phone # too. I don't have it but you should find it on name check pending threads (try the search tool on this portal)
On the other hand, If your FPs were code 1 they don't take your picture.
You might want to call TSC again to see what other rep. tells you. TSC phone reps. are know for giving wrong information quite frequently.
Also, today I found out in this forum that the newest TSC processing date is April 04 so you might get approved pretty soon.

FP codes

FP notices usually have 3 types of codes. Code 1, Code 2 and Code 3. Here is what they mean -

Code 1 - FP of ten fingers.

Code 2 - FP of ten fingers along with index finger FP. (I am not completely certain of this one)

Code 3 - FP of ten fingers, FP of index finger, digital photo and signature.

Code 3 is a rather recent devleopment. Once a code 3 FP is complete the physical GC can be mailed out without having the PP stamped first. During PP stamping they take a picture and FP of the index finger. This is necessary for the physical card. Now that this is done during the Code 3 FP process the GC can be mailed to the applicant without waiting for the PP stamping. Lately most people have been getting Code 3 FP notices but there are still a lot of Code 1 and Code 2 FP notices out there.

thanks for the info. my FP code was 1, so that was why nobody asked me to do the photo, that seems to be okay, like you said, they will ask me to do it when I have my passport stamp (I wonder whether that day will come).

however, the name check thing seems to be a nightmare now. I will struggle for that one.

I recently applied for second EAD card. They asked me to go for FP Code 2. But they took only one FP (Index Finger) and digital photo. So I am not sure its always true about FP of ten fingers for Code2.

Hi there,
I have got these # sine 2004 hopefully they are the same;
The FBI name check fax # 202 324 3367 your faxshould list you full name and DOB , A # and the expedite name check requested.

Also the E-mail Address for the FBINNCP; FBINNCP@ic.fbi.gov

Phone;(304) 625-5590 Press option #3 ( this on I got from other poster)

Hey Dude:
What does the FBI tell when you do a status check? Are them messages different for email, phone or fax
