Hello aqustion regarding "reciet number"

hello everyone,
first of all, i want to start by thanking everyone in this forum for the work and help provided to us.

I hear a lot about reciet numbers, but i never got anything from the INS that show my reciet number

i filled I-485 on feb-22-02. had my fingerprint appointment on 3-8-03 still waiting for my interview. i renewed my workpermit twice.
i filled at Houston Local Office.so, im i suppose to get a reciet number? if so when?

didn't u get any receipts for filling your 485 ?
are you unaware of your EAD 's receipt numbers?
I will make a guess that you have not filled for employment based GC.

Did you file your case with a lawyer? If you did then , he/she might have the numbers and receipts.
