The big drawback if the life in the US is health insurance and its high fees, what are the best solutions to live safe in US and pay cheap your Medicare ?

Finding a job where your employee pays the insurance.
Otherwise i don't know. For me, i am a smoker and pay a lot for this bad habitat.
I should quit smoking and saving a lot of money, the money i save is more than the price of the insurance;)

Your employer could pay it otherwise there are plenty of options to choose from.

Can you please share some of these options or what "comparison" site to look at? I'm gonna be working as a self-employed at least for the first 6 months and I need insurance for all family to cover us during that time.

Hi,

Actually, there are several online websites where to look for health insurance. Health insurance companies' coverage might also depend on the state where you are going to reside because not all companies offer health insurance plans in all the states.

Some websites that could help you:
http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/
http://www.healthinsurance.org/
http://www.healthinsurance.com/hi/

There you can find plenty of options (some less expensive than others) but when it's about health in the US, it is better to buy a good insurance plan especially if you have family.

Thanks for you help, Pryanik. Yes, I have a family and I want to make sure we have an insurance plan in place before or just after our arrival.

Some cities have health plans as well. They are usually good for families and such and are pretty cheap.
However, you might have to meet the income guidelines. It probably wont cover major surgeries and stuff. But doctor visits and emergency care is taken care of, so it's also something you should look into and use before you get a job and get healthcare through that.

Having looked into health insurance, through online quotes and information from American friends who have to pay for their own health insurance, the whole thing is very confusing with all sorts of rules & restrictions, and complicated terminology: PPO, HMO, copay, coinsurance, etc., etc. It's also expensive. You can either go for cheaper monthly premiums with huge deductibles, or much higher monthly premiums with smaller deductibles. For instance, you can pay $400/month but have to rack up $10,000 in bills before the insurance company starts paying anything. Or pay $1,000 a month and "only" have to accumulate $1,500 in bills before the company pays. Either way, you pay through the nose.

I've been told to get a health insurance agent to do the research for us as it can be so complex that it's easy to make a mistake and end up with the wrong plan.

If i have health insurance, that means i wont pay a penny for hospital if i get sick ?

I have lived in USA for 5 years, I have never been in a situation where i have to go to hospital, thanks god
