Health Insurance for Tourists. Help Please!

Hi everyone,

Could you let me know of companies that offer medical insurance for tourists? My parents are coming from Kazakhstan. They do not have any health insurance now.

What US company is most credible?

I used the AIG plan from India network (http://health.kvrao.org/) and was very satisfied with their service. I am sure that even though you are not Indian, you can join the network (25 bucks) and then get the appropriate plan.

Note that the plan is pay and claim - meaning you have to pay for the medical services and then claim refund from insurance provider. They were pretty good with my claims.

Be careful with insubuy guys. Some of their policies do not cover heart related and cancer related treatments, even emergencies. Make sure you understand what you are protected against.

My wife is pregnant and visiting the states. Is there any insurance which will cover childbirth in the event that she delivers in America? Are there any help available that we can get towards medical cost?

I have used IMG Global insurance in the past. I chose the VisitorCare plan, limited insurance coverage per day. Worked out to $40 per person. Quite cheap. Some other good insurance companies are listed here.

try checking out http://www.oneshopinsurance.com they got a couple of companies here. they're like brokers so you get to choose which one will best fit your need. hope this helps.
