having 2 names with same finger print !

My brother came to USA as a student in 1993. Then he filled a political assylum in 1994 with a DIFFERENT NAME ! He worked 4 years with that political assylum work permit. Then 1997 he got DV lottery wih his ORIGINAL NAME. Nowaday, he has green card in his original name and he wants to renews his green card rather than applying for citizenship. I asked him why he is not applying for citizenship? He told me that he is affraid that they will find out that he had a political assylum case in the past with fake name ! My question is to you ... it that true that immigration will find out his past political assylum case ? What if they found out , are they gonna deport him ?
(BTW... during his DV lottery process he gave his fingerprint and he was okay to get DV lottery green card even though he has same finger print on different name for his previous political asylum case! )
 
He got a DV in 1997, its 2010 now, 9-11 changed a lot of things, your brother or whoever is more likely doomed now, when he is going to apply its highly likely they will have a match since all fingerprints are now Centralized since 2003. They can revoke his green card and put him in removal proceeding.
His other name asylum case is more than likely been denied and he must have a removal order under that name.
I came in 1993 also and almost all the guys that met me tried to convince me to make a new passport from embassy in Newyork in a different name with a different DOB, as it was very easy in those days, the INS at that time was giving EAD same day if you apply for asylum, after that you can have a SS card, these ideas were used as a short cut by the deceptive and infamous Newyork City's shady attorneys. I am gonna be honest it was tempting at that time, just claim you enter illegally and apply for asylum and get all the papers right away, and I still remember, that no good attorney was charging $250 for a quick same day EAD in your hand at that time.
I thank my stars now that i didn't fell for that and stayed put and did'nt do anything stupid and went to school then H-1 and then GC and finally citizenship after 17 years in US.
Almost all the guys that i knew who applied at that time claiming asylum got denied 3 to 5 years later and were basically screwed.
He has obtained his GC by deception and with intent to defruad the government.
He could have easily mentioned about his other name and claimed that as a alias and got his GC the right way rather than concealing a material fact to obtain a immigration benefit. He had his chance to come clean before he adjusted status under DV. It could have been done at that time but its too late now..............consult a good attorney even though in my opinion He/she wouldn't be of much help.

He applied for Citizenship in 2004 and got busted through finger prints, his case was unique in a sense that Immigration staged a Citizenship interview and confronted him, he denied everything since he was under oath he got himself into more trouble, was arrested at the interview as they had already revoked the approval of his I-551 and used the interview as a mouse trap. Further more he defrauded a lot of creditors under his old asylum case name and obtained a lot of credit and never paid back and started using his new name. He was also charged with defrauding US financial institutions and was eventually deported.

But fingerprint process is now completely different than before. Before it was ink finger print when he got EAD through his asylum case and now is biometric computer scan. Do you think immigration keeps all those old fashion in fingerprint on the record and it can be matchble with new biometric scan system ? What if he just renew his GC rather than going for citizenship ?

Well my friend , you are talkin in completly different angel ... ! My brother is not a fraud like your friend was ! You are comparing your friend to my brother who never done anything like you friend ! You exlpained yourself how you became very successful ( which is not very immportant on this topic ), who wants to know about you my friend ? If you can help you help someone that's it, who wants to know how you got your GC. Look my brother is way to much talented than you and he only did that stupid things to pay his tuitions ... he graduated from COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY... he got himself a DV lottery and got himself a trilion dollars company job that you can even dream of until your next 100 reincarnation ! Your answer was very destructive and I dont think you should post something like you dont know in the first place... what a waste...
 
I provided my information only to be sympathetic to your Brother's situation and i got a empathetic reply, I undersand the pressure, I went thru the same thing, I was tempted to do the same mistake but did'nt.
And "My Friend he did committed fraud" as I am almost 99.9 percent sure that he used a different DOB with that name and that is FRAUD my friend just to let you know, all the Manual Fingerprints Ink Cards were centralized starting mid 2003 and were finished with everyone put in the system by the end of 2005.
Forget applying for anything with USCIS and getting FP, even if your brother is arrested for anything even Traffic violation he could now be traced back to his other ID after his FP are processed.
For your kind information I also care less even if he is a Harvard Graduate and work for a fortune 500 company, or is handling Warren Buffet's empire, good for him.
But his morals are screwed up to create a new ID, made fake passport, new DOB etc and do all that crap just for a Work permit, you said he did this to pay his tuition that's Bull because as a student you can get a work permit anyway, you don't have to invent new ID's and defraud the system for something you can have anyway. Truth is he tried to obtain US Residency by fraudulant representation and he DID NOT "Got Himself a DV " he got it by the stroke of luck, he can enjoy it atleast until he gets caught, but thats cool he is a genius and I am Mr Zero..... Happy now? Hopefully now you should be able to satisfy your false ego. I don't know why you took this personal man i was just trying to explain.
