Have seperate interview appointment for parents?

One of my friends applied I-130/I-485 for his parents. The AOS interviews for his parents are on the same day, but in the different time slots, one is 2-2:30, the other is 2:30 to 3. Is it normal. I thought parents will be sitting together for one interview. Anybody has any experince on that?

Can you tell me the timeline for the whole process? Which Local Office did your freind apply to? I am in the process of applying for my mom. Any input will be appreciated. Thank you.
