I have GC since 1996. I used to visit US every 2years (as I always applied for reentry extension permit) for a period ranging between 10 - 40 days. I moved permanently to US in sept. 2004 and am here since then. Can I apply for citizenship now?

I suggest you

a) Dont take any more trips over 6 months
b) Apply a FULL 5 years from Sept 04.

If you want to take a chance, then apply 4 years + 1 day after Sept 2004, but I dont recommend it
