Have EAD & AP. Can I take abroad assignment. for 6months to 1 year.

Hi GC Gurus,
I have filled my 485 on Mar 2002. Have EAD & AP till May 2003 and have applied for Extension. Now there are chances that I may get layed off. My company asked me to take an assignment in New Delhi. Is it ok to go India ...Will there be any problem for my GC......

URgent I need to decide in few hours....

If you are going to work in NDelhi on deputation and continue to get the same US salary and can get an employment letter from US branch, I think there should not be a problem for continuation of GC. Obviously you should use your Advance Parole to exit US since only that document will allow you GC to continue to get processed.

This is my understanding an opinion.

I would suggest that in such important issues you should just make a call to an attorney (Murthy or other) and ask them your question. They might charge a small fee but you will get a legally accurate answer.
