Today I called up the 1-800 number, used the POJ trick and was able to talk to immi. officer - but to my surprise the immi. officer was very arrogant. When I asked him about if he can give me any info about my pending security checks - he simply said that just keep checking your online status and warned me that the option I selected over the phone is not supposed to be used for getting such info. I wanted to, but did'nt discussed this further with him - as you all know there is always a fear of what if they are moody and might screw your case up.

So I am wondering has anybody else been able to talk to immi. officer using the POJ trick - and has been able to get any useful info. regarding their cases? If so please post details of the conversation.

I think finally these asses have wisened up to the POJ trickery.

Hi,

Yesterday I talked with imm. officer by using POJ tech. A nice lady answered to my questions.

My Q: I seen my case status online that you have sent RFE to me on Oct 17. But I have not received yet. Earlier I got FP notice with in 3 days.

Imm. A: Give me your case# and your full name

I gave all the information she needed. She checked with the system and told me that it was sent to my attorney office on Oct 17. And asked me to check with my attorney.

Really she was so good.

Thanks Ravinka - At what time did you called yesterday? - I would also try calling up again next week at the same time - to try and get the same lady immi. officer hopefully.

For Others - I called up today on Wednesday at around 12:30 pm - bad day and time to call.

Hi Aakash28

Let me know how the 2nd attempt goes.

I am pretty much in the same boat as your timeline.

Did call for inquiry not sure if I can preempt with another one within 60 Days of the inquiry date [ That is what it says on the doc that they mailed me ].

best of luck,

This trick connects to Immigration Information Officers in Vermont Service Center.I see an attitude change recently(since last month). Especially, if it is a status enquiry, they've started discouraging people.

1) I called them on October 2nd. Initially the lady was reluctant to open the file for status enquiry. When I explained that the case is pending more than two years and the pd is current, she took the info and opened the file.
2) When she opened the file, she found that there was call logged on less than a month. She mentioned that and said, they are discouraging people to call atleast beyond 30 days.
3) She told me that my case was ready for adjudication and may hear some thing in next 30 days and specifically told me to call only after 30 days.I told my fps seems to be expired.

I've received FP dt 9th and I gave them on 14th.

No LUD as of now and today is my 31 st day and I called Vermont again around 9:00 am, which connected to some other office called Mr Jim.

He was also rude and the first question he asked is why did you have call two times in 30 days?I had to explain(that this is my 31st day)..Some how he started saying, we generally discourage people to call this number and you should call call center(8003755283). He started saying since your case is pending for so long, I am opening it and other officers might not be so nice..(I am not sure whether he was nice!!)

Finally after putting me on hold for three times, he told that eventhough PD's are current(since last two months), my file is still struck at "visa hold" section. He said latest FPs are back and clean(Incidentally I didn't observe any LUD or FP status change till now). He was trying to blame some other officers for not moving the file .He said he spoke with his supervisor and moved the file to "review" department and I can expect a decision in "14" days.

I hope what he said is true...!

I did call up again today after talking to the immi. officer - but this time I just did a normal status inquiry to which the customer rep. told that it would take around 45 days (earlier it used to be 30 days) for them to send a response.

I do not think you have to wait for 60 days to do a status inquiry - even if the respond letter says so. The last letter I received said to wait for 6 months. I think a status inquiry can be made after 34 days (earlier it used to be 30 days).

Thanks gcva, I think I also talked with the same guy today. The difference is that by the time I called him up he was'nt even in the mood to listen to anything. He just kept blabbering about that I am not supposed to call. It's good to know that you got better of him... Best of luck... your Green Card seems to be just around the corner.

POJ:

If your case is at TSC, dial 1 800 375 5283 then 1-2-2-6-1 enter SRC# then 1-1-3-4 you can talk with imm. officer directly..

Does the 800 number and option work only for TSC?! I have filed at VSC and how could we confirm if the case is still at VSC or transferred to some other service center.

On the same note, can any of you confirm what processing center does applications with receipt number starting with the letters MSC belong to?

Thanks

PS: What's POJ stand for?

MSC: Missouri Service Center. Where the Cave is loaded.

I don't see any way of checking the case status for Missouri on the USCIS page. Under what processing center am I to look under?
