Have a question for the pros. about layoff and 140/485

Hello Friends,
My company has applied for my GC. I 140 / 485 in process. I got my ead working on ead right now. It is about 4 months past I 140 application and 3 months i 485 application. Now my question is what happens if I get layed off in between say next week. What are the things I need to be aware of.

You can use your EAD to find another job. You are fine as long as I140/485 are still pending. Make sure your sponsoring company don't revoke the I140 application and still replies to REF if there is any. After I140 is approved, you are free.

I have similar problem but I thought that you need to be in pending status for I485 before you can change the employer but you need to have I140 approved.
Are you sure that having EAD is enough to change employer ?

If you are still working for sponsoring employer, of course, it is safe to stay with them at least until I140 approved. But for the above scenario, the beneficiary is laid off. So use the EAD to find another job, hopefully I140 approved no problem, then use AC21 change employer.
 
Thanks LCSilence, I did not know there is a difference between being laid off and change employers as your wish.
