Has this happened before?

Hi,

I've applied for my EAD Renewal. The WAC is WAC-03-134-53XXX. When I try to check the status on line, I am getting the following message:

Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the service center where you submitted your application.


When I check the AVM, there the message is like 'We have received your application, and it's taking .......'.

Can you please suggest what's wrong. It's being more than 2 weeks since I received my receipt - should it take so long for the web site to get updated with the information.
 
call up the INS or BCIS and tell them the issue. Your problem is a glitch in the INS computer - not immigration related

Don't sweat it! The bloody online message system is a menace. I still haven't seen approval of my AP inspite of getting the AP in hand for the past 5 months.

The AVM is much better in my opinion. Reflects a truer picture. But ultimately it boils down to the data operators. Usually INS sub contracts this stuff and it is the semi educated people who get to mess with your application (a.k.a. your life).

As long as you got your receipt number, I wouldn't worry too much!
