Has plastic card got anything to do with PP stamping

Hi folks,
My 485 got approved yesterday. Now, I would like to ask question that may have been addressed zillion times before. Is the ordering of the Plastic Card dependent on my stamping my passport. Or both are independent ?

The reason for asking is, if Plastic Card ordering is independent then I would like to schedule my PP stamping in next 4-5 weeks due to work commitments. But, if it is dependent on PP stamping then I would like to do the stamping sooner.

Please shed some light in this area.

USCIS orders the plastic card only after stamping. So, as 'another dude' said..."no stamp..then NO Card"..

Nice to know that. I heard from my lawyer that you have stamping done only if you go for interview. So...now I am well aware on what to do to be on safer side.
