has passport stamping on same day begun in nyc???

I know they were not stamping passports on the same day based on messages on this board...
Also, can one get stamped with courtesy copies of notice? I am planning to go on Friday for stamping at Federal plaza? Please post your experiences/advice. Really appreciate it. Thanx.
