Has anyone used 30 day visa revalidation rule recently?

Hi Guys,

Has anyone used 30 days visa revalidation rule (with current visa and I94 in passport being expired and having an approved H1 with new I-94 attached to approval notice)?

Any experiences are appreciated.

My Experience...

I got my passport stamped in detroit for Canada. My Visa was expired and I have new approval notice HIB. I went to Immigration officer in US border, and asked him, if I go to Canada and come back will I be allowed to enter. He said "YES". Only "No" if I go ahead to US embassy for stamping and get rejected or if my stay in CANADA exceeds 30 days.

Although I did not go, coz it did not make sense for me, as it was weekend and I had to come bac to NY. I may go sometime soon.
