Has anyone successfully transferred from H1-B to F1 in Consulate after
filing I-140? Just want to get some hands up from people who have tried the H1-B to F1 transfer in Mexico or Canada after filing I-140?
If you did, would you share some experience and the risk?
(1). Approved or denied, and if denied, what happened to you?
(2). Which consulate in Mexico or Canada? Is it true that Ottawa really gives people the best chance of getting F1?
(3). Do you have to quit your job before applying for F-1? My Canada visa need to state that I'm working in the US.
The bottom line is that keeping the current job will give me the backup option, in case the F1 gets rejected and I can still come back to the US on H1-B.
Your information would be very helpful.
Thank you!
