Applied for EAD back in December electronically. Went to the local office to get photo and fingerprinting done last week (finally realized the exact process) and recieved the EAD in the mail yesterday. If I would have gone in to get the photos and fingerprints done earlier, it would have been approved a lot sooner. Also, it might seem like a pain to wait for a long time in order to make an appointment for photos/fingerprints by phone using the USCIS 800 number (I was on hold for almost 40 minutes) but it will definitely speed you though the process at the office (total time: 5 minutes in and out of the local office)
