Has anyone applied for PIO card in Indian embassy, Washington D.C?

Has anyone in this board applied for PIO card in Indian Embassy, Washington D.C. Pls let me know at your earliest convenience...While I was reading the instructions on the downloaded form it says 'required to send original U.S. passport'. Is that right?

yes, one must send both India and U.S passports to embassy,

my friend did this recently and got both passports back within two weeks(of business days) of course the India passport was cancelled and returned :)
