I have been following this website for last couple of weeks and found to be extremely helpful. Paticualrly users like real canadian and others who share their wisdom and expereinces make this forum a treasure trove of information as well as support.

Coming to my question, My h-1 got expired this month and I did not renew it as my lawyer advised me that I can use EAD to continue employment with my current employer. Incidentally I did not change jobs. I am still with the same employer who sponsored my I-140 & 485. Do you see any problem with this.

Anybody else is in the same boat.

Your responses are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

Its very common...

Its very common for folks to work with EAD, after their H expiry, during the adjucation process. I too work with my EAD (same employer).

Just make sure, you file a new I-9 with a copy of your EAD and Drivers License to your HR department. Ask you HR dept for further details.

And, renew your EAD atleast 2-3 months before it expires.

Working on an EAD is fine. My H1-B expires after 2 months and my company lawyer has recommended working on the EAD instead of the H1-B

Thanks GC Lotto and Hope99_HUB

Thanks for your posts. I have a follow up question to my earlier one,

I read in this forum that when we go for passport stamping, we need to show our latest valid I-94. Now that I am using EAD for my status, what is considered valid I-94 in my case....

You do not need to submit I-94 during stamping !! I got stamped without I-94, therefore , expired I-94 has nothing to do with stamping , it is your wish.... either submit ot not during stamping !!
