I received RFE notice today.
It says

"Please submit evidence that you are not likely to become a public charge. Evidence may include

an original letter of employment (stating prospect for continued employment and salary) "

They have not asked for paystubs, W2 etc.

What does word "ORIGINAL" mean here.
- Original and not photocopy, OR
- Letter from original employer.

I am no longer working with original employer.

before

someone had a similiar RFE sometime ago...and the response if i remember was that it's just another RFE to certify that you will be employed in the future ..similiar to an employment letter..and that u won't be a burden to the social security system!!

An idea could be to have someone (working spouse, relative) fill out an Affidavit of support. I know my lawyer had me (principal applicant) fill out and affidavit of support for spouse since we knew he was going to be laid off 1 month after filing I-485.

The other options could be the employment letter not only confirming current employment status but stating that the company intends to keep you for a long time.

Hope this helps!

it is a normal RFE

this is just a normal RFE from a junior INS officer. What you need to do is to send them a standard employment letter.

By the way from the message you could clearly see "original" means to the letter, i.e., you have to send them the letter signed by your employer (other than a copy which won't work)

I did a search for " public charge" and found that similar RFE was issued to Member Name: 2004.

The rfe requested prove that I will not be a public charge after green card is approved.

lawyer suggested to send the employment letter, Tax returns and paystubs

hope this helps

Whats the Harm??

Send a copy of paystubs, W2s and the letter from the employer originally signed.

Just make sure that the officer is satisfied.

Thanks guys for advice

My lawyer is suggesting to just send the original employment letter, so we are doing that

Original means a Letter from your current Employer on their Company Letter head. Send the Origianal Document.

Thanks
