Has any one had the luck to get a sibling on visitor visa recently?

I am trying to get my brother aged 30 to visit me here in California. I know one has to be extremely lucky to have blessing from the immigration officer.

Please share your experience and any tips/suggestions on this matter will be appreciated.

Hello-

I would like to have my father-in-law to visit me. Could someone tell me what forms and steps I need to take? I know you need the Affidavit of Support, but are there any other forms that the Consulate will require from me? I was told that I only need to send the Affidavit of Support to my relative and they will have to take it to the Consulate. I have a feeling that it will be more than this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
