Hard to believe ?????

I was told by a co-worker that he sent employment letter to CIS without any RFE, after seeing their trend of issuing RFEs for employment letter. He claims that it triggered his approval though his RD is 05/2002.

It's hard to believe.

I did that too

well, I changed my job in nov 2003 and sent AC21 without any RFE in January 2004 and nothing happened till now. Mine is 02/2002 case. I think it is case by case

I think when you use AC21 it triggers some additional checks and it makes process different than same employment case. Don't know more about it.

But just for argument sake, if someone provides details such as employment confirmation, which is required before approving I-485, it can save some time. CIS officer has this information available at time of processing, so one less thing to wait for and he can continue with his process. He issues RFE if there is other thing is required, else he got everything that he requires to process this case. So, logically it saves couple of months time.

So, now if this incident is really triggered his approval than the next questions are:
1. Do they accept such information without issuing RFE ?
2. Should we provide this information, if we are in the same time frame of approvals ?

What do you think?
 
While dealing with INS everybody has a unique story to tell.

These stories however authentic they may sound are hard to believe. I guess something that worked for one may not work for others. After all there is no science behind BCIS operations.

No one could tell WHY some cases with ND/RD 05/02 are being approved while others with ND/RD 01/01 (and even prior) are still pending.

So HANG ON AND PRAY HARD our time will also come someday. As they say in Hindi Song "HUM HONGE KAMAYAAB .... EK DIN" (for the benefit of those who don't know hindi) it means that We'll be successful one day.

The key question in this thread is: Is it worth to provide such information (employment letter confirming current employment) without RFE ?

For example: 50-75% employment based applications are getting RFEs for confirming employment and all are responding without any problem than this extra step justifies.

1. Is there any harm in this ?
2. Has anyone heard or experience such action ?

What are you thoughts ?
 
I would suggest that no, without an RFE it's unlikely to help, since no one will look at your file. However, if you get an RFE for something else (say birth certificat, medicals) it probably doesn't hurt to submit an employment RFE.

Without a RFE the clerk at the INS mail center has no idea as what to do with your letter. So, in most of the cases your letter never reaches your file without a RFE. I know it is hard to beleive, but INS has a standard procedure when it comes to mail handling, since most of their mail is handled by private contractors and not by feds.

On the other hand....

if one goes ahead and send the letter stating the receipt number and A#, wouldn't that increase the chances of entering that letter into the file? after all, it is a minimal effort from our end (asking for a letter, and paying 37C for the stamp), and hoping for the best?
Just a thought.....any idea??????
