harassment at work

Hi All,

Thanks in Advance for help.

I would like to know if we (two employees) have case.

We (tow of them) voth are indians, We work for NC State Government, and recently my manager started behaving very strange. My Job is software programming . Very stressful at my work place. But we have a good name overall from lot of other team members. Just a month ago in the review we got 90%

For the past couple of weeks my magnager started acting very strange.
A week ago My manager called me and colleague out of the my cubes into the lobby and started a abusing us, just for no reason in the main reception area where others are hearing and watching.

Being a govt employee She was blaming me and colleague for no valid reason, my other colleagues also hear her yelling at us. we were very upset with her behaviour. I was very upset and feel like i am in depression , even went to doc got the priscription for the depression.

I went to work yesterday and she called me and apolagized , the reason she says is that she had problems at her house so she is getting frustrated. This is a 3rd apology in 4weeks ?

We 11 folks went and complained to management about this still no action.

Is there any way I can take Legal Action , I told higher mgmt about ther behaviour. They said they will look into it. DO I HAVE A CASE.

Be careful about what you do.

There is ALWAYS a case but it can work both ways. It depends on how far you are willing to go, and how much money you are willing to spend. On the other hand, your supervisor could come up with an excuse to fire you, and put the whole blame on you.

It however looks like that your supervisor is being unreasonable. A simpler thing would be to approach her superiors again and make them aware of the situation.
 
Look, If this has really caused you lot of pain and depression then you should probably fight it and not bear it. If what you believe is unlawful discrimination go and see a lawyer. If your boss can get away with it every time, what stops here from doing it again. Start looking aroundfor another job. If you are talented and hardworking you will find more jobs.
Keeps a notebook with tabs and if you can, even record the conversations. Some states might not allow them in court, but that will give you a good bargaining chip with your company.
