Half year holidays between jobs

I think it is a great opportunity to do some travelling between job changes. The idea is to leave one employment -> travel for up to 6 months outside the U.S. and then get a different job in the U.S. again. Sometime later possibly repeat that pattern.

Is that something that can endanger the citizenship eligibility? Of course providing the fact that one spends total 6+ months in the U.S. during a year.

If you keep the trip under 6 months, don't string multiple long trips together, don't work when abroad, and don't spend so much total time abroad that you violate the physical presence requirement, you shouldn't have a problem with citizenship eligibility.

But you might have a problem with getting another job in the US when you return, unless your occupation is such that jobs are easy to get. Employers don't like seeing 6 month gaps in your employment history.
