Hi,
I live in Washington dC,and today I had my interview at USCIS in Fairfax, VA. The stress level was so high all this week getting myself ready for the interview and make sure that I have all the paperwork ready.
Our interview was at 2:00 Pm. We arrived there at 1:40pm. We finally were called in at 3:00 pm. It was not a pleasant wait...
The lady, was nice. She asked us to follow her to her office. Swore us. and then we started. The interview was very smooth and easy. She asked for my wife's (US sponsor) passport and Birth Certificate and ID. Then she asked for my id. She wanted to make sure that we both have the same address on the ids. Then she asked for documents that we have to prove our marriage. Gave her joint bank account, Car insurance with both of our names on, Health insurance from my work, and paper from my 401k saying my wife is my primary beneficiary, and updated form of my w4 form. She asked if we have a lease with both our names on, I said, no since we got married after i was already living at this current address. Then she made copies and asked if we have pictures together and with family members. We had tons of pictures of me and her travelling to go see her family and her came to see my family. so all was good. SHe didnt take copies of pictures, nor asked to see pictures from our wedding. Then she confirmed some information from our application, like work, ssn, address, dob, etc.. same with my wife.
That was it.. she said that our case is approved, but i will have to wait for FBI name check clearance before I can get my GC in the mail. Then she explained to us about the conditional green card and how to remove it after 2 years. Also told us about when can we apply for citizenship. That was it.
I want to thank this great forum, which was a great help while going through this. Thanks for being there and answering all of my questions. Good luck for everyone.
Anything i can do for the fbi name check?
