Interview 13 jan 2005
Result successful

We reached there at 9. Interview scheduled for 9:30. 6th number.

2 windows opened at 10. A guy and a lady, both chinese.

The guy was good and quick, handled 3 cases and looked like gave it to all 3.
The lady had tough cases. First a couple who were bad in english, did not get it. 2nd a guy who had applied for refugee application, did not get it.
We were the 3rd and last case for her.

She said ours was the best appln. for the day. Documents were in sequence. We have called you here to access your Off shore work experience (I was surprised as the CAIPS said to access the education.) I am not accessing you as per the IRPA act 2002 june, as you qualify and exceed the previous 70 point criteria.

Qn. Why do you want to move to Canada, now that you have established yourself here on H1b?
Qn. What will you do there? (Secondary applicant)
Qn. How much funds are you taking to Canada? (Searching for the bank letter)
Qn. any arranged empl.?
Qn. Any relatives?
Qn. where will you stay for the first 15-30 days?
qn. What city are you targetting to land?
qn. What do you do in your job?
qn. Do you like it?
qn. did you give all your paystubs?
qn. What would you do if (gives a situation based on the job role)?

You have successfully convinced me that you are eligible for the PR, I am giving you 8/10 based on the work experience and economic suitability. So now you have 74+8 = 82 (I was surprised as the CAIPS said 70).

We would need state Police clearence, FBI, and medicals within 60 days. Please sign here. We signed. any qns.

I said we would need medical forms again, she said she will have them sent. FBI I showed her the MO, and told her we would be getting it soon. She wrote FBI submitted, awaiting results.
She gave us the letter that said they required these 3 things. She said goodluck, you will be there in 6 months.

That's it.

Hope this helps.

My question:

Is there any place cheap in chicago to get the medical done? last time I paid 285 for one person.

The eclient status hasn't changed? is it too early.

Thanks

Congrats g_m111.

Could you please let me know, how can I get the FBI finger printing forms? Do I need to call some number? I went to local ploce station, but no luck to find them yet.

Thanks

Hi PSTVAK

We had the local Police and clearence from India. The only thing they want now is clearence from the state police here, which was no where mentioned.

Regarding FBI, the letter says we should have it. Now FBI has started taking 10 weeks. We had sent them on Nov 10th and are still waiting. We showed the interviewer the MO and the USPS receipt.

If you don't have any document, then they give you 60 or 90 days time, which is very common.

The best is to try to have whatever you can at that time. Otherwise you should have a logical reason for the missing ones.

Thanks

Sree

We went to a private shop where they did the FBI fingerprinting. They do have the fingerprint form. We bought it for $3 and the printing for $7. In all $10 for one person.

Otherwise you can also send FBI a letter asking them to send you the forms for free. But that takes times.

We bought it, and this way we could dispatch them to the FBI the same day.

FBI now takes 10 weeks, so anything to decrease the time.

Thanks

Thanks for such a valuable information. Did they see the original documents like transcripts and work experience letter etc.?

Thanks for valuable information. Did the check your original documents like academic transcripts, experience letter etc. ?

some more minor details

--Can we also produce Medical transcripts later?
--I lived in Japan 5 yrs back. Anybody knows how to get Police clearance?
--We have 4 month old baby. Can we take the baby with us for interview? Or we need leave the baby at home?

thanks

Mardala

She checked everthing. Before taking the interview they thoroughly study the file for a good 25-30 mts, and have good knowledge of the case by the time they come to the window. If you have everything in order, there is nothing to worry.

PSTVAk

Do the medicals if they asked you to.
Take the baby, but leave the baby out with the mom (assuming that you are the primary applicant). That way you can always point outside and tell the interviewer that that's your family. Ask the interviewer if she/he wants you to call them inside. If the baby is calm or sleeping she can go in with you. Your wife can always excuse herself if the baby starts to cry.

This may lead the interviewer to believe that you are serious and have taken the pains to get here.

Contact your local PS in Japan.

Thanks

Did you try Japanese embassy? They may be able to help you.
