 They should rename it from info-pass to mean old biddies that hate foreigners. She wouldn't let me ask any questions, she wouldn't really listen to me. I hear about people getting all this information from infopass. This was my second visit and she wouldn't tell me anything except they are waiting for my background check to clear and that my case has been put in the 2 year section. WTH? I know it's been 2 years. I am just so mad and frustrated. My fiance is still at home. It's going to take forever to get him here cause immigration is taking so long. Oh my gosh. I am so frustrated, i don't know what to do. I just want to cry. How can it be fair that people that applied a year after me are gettign through just fine.

Write, write, write. Write to your senators, congressman, FBI, first lady and others you can think of. Explain your situation and how your life is on hold. Hopefully you will have an angel smile upon you from some quarter.

The old USCIS website had names of DO directors. Does anyone know how to get hold of these names now?

I wrote to congressman's office and i don't feel like i am going to get much help from his aid. She has written to immigration but i don't think she is really interested in helping me. I am going to try the Senator's office and if i can find it, the supervisor or director of my local office.

frustrated alot,

What is your timeline? You mentioned 2 years? If it is two years, you should file a law suite to make USCIS to act (see lawsuite trend in this forum). This appears to be the only option available apart from waiting forever.

It blows my mind, that they can be checking someone's background for 2 years.

Which DO is so "helpful"? I think we need to start a rating system on which DO is really helpful and which is not. For example, Philadelphia in on "mean" list from what I understand.

Didn't you post just a few days ago that you were all set, your case was approved and you were ready to get the oath letter? Didn't you also say that they told you that you were scheduled for oath?

What could suddenly go so wrong? I don't understand how your infopass appts. could be so uninformative? That's what they are there for - to give you information. Are you going in there with a smile and not tikking them off? You need to be humble - address them as "sir/mam" and *try* to smile and be amicable. Sorry to ask - just trying to help you out :)

frustrated_alot,
Welcome to hell...Nobody listens. I also had a similar encounter with the immigration liaison from my congressman office; she wasn't interested in doing anything.

I am willing to pay more money for my application if I get a nicer and professional response from the immigration officers. As for greeting officers with a simile, i don't think any immigrants here dare not to be nice..Our Akiles Heel is USCIS :)

The reason I asked the question about smiling is bec. some people just don't know/understand that their own actions might precipitate an undesireable response from the IO's......... and my experiences with IO's have been very good so far as far as being courteous. Maybe it's a Texas thing - who knows. That being said, it's clear that you are NOT one of those people ;)

Your process has taken too long and like the others here are telling you - you need to get an attorney ASAP. If I were you, I would NOT go this alone - get an attorney and have him file that WOM ASAP
