Hi,
Today morning I went to the houston local office with an infopass appointment. It was a waste of time. I got the same answer. The officer/rep was little shrewd at first. He said, my case was pending security clearance. And I asked why is it pending since long time. His response was that it goes to 3 agencies. 1. FBI. 2. CIA 3. I didnt catch that. something department of .... I asked if it can be expedited, to which he said that the national security is more important than rushing my case. So I should wait for sometime, 90 days, and see if it gets approved by then. It may happen next week, or maybe a month or year. The data comes from FBI every friday and so i can get approved next week too, since nothing else is pending.

Well, so I guess I will have to wait for 90 days more. I will keep sending FBI emails every week though.

Did you call TSC?

Sorry to hear that.
I was just wondering if you tried to call TSC directly. A couple of representatives there are very nice and they will tell you the exact reason.
What are the other steps you have taken so far to expedite the name check?
Toxsci.

Yes, I have called the TSC couple of times. They all tell me that my security clearance is pending. Currently these are the things I have done for my name check but none has worked.

1. Call TSC (Couple of times).
2. Called congressman. They inquired, but they have the same answer, and they say they cannot expedite with FBI, and suggested me to wait.
3. Yesterday I did infopass and same answer.
4. I am sending email to FBI every week now. So far 2 emails, this week and last week.

I wanted to contact senators now, and also fax letters to FBI. But I am searching for some influence. Somebody who knows a contact in senator office. I think then only the inquiry would be good. Just faxing them wont work unless I have an influence inside the senator office, who can make a personal recommendation. If someone in the forums have a contact in senator office let me know. I am trying with some american co-workers in my office who have an indirect link to them. But its taking time too. I am not sure I might be able to get them. Lets see. Do you have any suggestions, Toxci?

I think that would be a good strategy. Also try if some of your co-workers know any FBI agents (local). If possible, ask your employer to write to NNCP chief. I think senators can help, if their secretaries put in some efforts. I would call them first and if they sound friendly, I would personally go there and talk to them.
My suggestion is ..do not stop working on it..just keep trying different things. You can also ask your employer to send an e-mail to FBI. I have read in this forum several times that nothing works..but ultimately it depends on one's luck. I am sure your request will be heard by a sensible human being soon.
Did you already request FOIPA from FBI? If not send that request to Mr. Hardy's office. Although it is not of much use directly, you can keep it as a record and mention in your communications.
Good luck to you,
Toxsci.
