H4 work eligibility

Hello,

So, here is my situation. I've come to USA on F1 and am a masters degree holder. I am OPT right now, without a valid visa. That prevents me from coming back here, once I go to India. For this very reason, I am planning to file H1 asap. Can I go to India, when my H1 is still in process?
Two cases,
I go to India, my h1 is through, get married, come back and get back to work.
I go to India, my h1 is rejected, get married, come back as dependent. That makes me ineligible to work? Even if I have a higher degree here and am on OPT before leaving? How long will I be ineligible to work?
Or, I come here as a dependent, and then my h1 is approved, go for stamping, come back and work?

Makes any sense?
Some one aware and been through this, please reply.

Regards.

You can go to India while your H1 is in process, you will then go to a US consulate there to obtain H1 visa once you receive approval.

It doesn't matter what your qualifications are, as a dependent of H1 holder, you are not allowed to work as long as you remain the dependent status.

If you arrive in the US on a dependent status and obtain change of status to H1, you can work without having to go for a visa stamp (unless the approval notice directs you to do so)
