H4 which consulate to attend ?

Hi,
My wife is from Pune, India (Mumbai consulate region ) and I am from Hyderabad, India (Chennai Consulate).

1) Is she free to schedule the H4 visa interview in Mumbai itself , or does she have to go to Chennai since my region is Chennai ?

2)s the process of scheduling a H4 appointment at Mumbai different from that in Chennai (only through phone? ) ? Is it true that you have to submit documents 30 days in advance for H4 interview at Mumbai ?

Any pointers to the requirements for attending H4 interview @ Mumbai would be appreciated

I got a reply from the Mumbai consulate

1. yes, she can apply in Mumbai if she has been a resident for at least the
last 6 months.
2. yes.
