H4 Visa

HI everybody,

I would like to know some information about H4 visas . I am Having my H1-B visa valid until Jun 2006. I am resident of Andhra Pradesh. I got married on April 15th 2004. My wife needs to join me on H4 visa. We took an appointment for Personal interview in Chennai. We got the date on June 15th. It is too late for us to wait. We heard that people from south india can get a H4 visa from Delhi consulate also. How can we get an appointment for our visa? Do we need an appointment or can we directly walk in into the consulate with required documents? From TTServices website I am unable to get appointment for delhi consulate. Please give me the details for me.

And also one travel agent from hyd is telling that if all documents are there we need not attend the personal interview and we can use dropbox facility to get the visa. is it true? please let us know the details.

!!! Yes . If she is able to speak a good english . You can take an appointment in delhi or calcutta and get your passport stamped.

guys,dosen't this depend on where the principal applicant got his H1 from? i mean if you got it from chennai,the spouse has to get it from chennai too right?
 
NO its not like that ..As chennai consulate is busy .. they are sending some of the candidates to other consulates ..

ok..on the other hand, does the spouse have a choice of consulate? what if she lives closer to one consulate than the one the H1 holder is near to?
 
you can go to any consulate .. as they mentioned in the website ..
you can give your own causes to them why you opted this particular Consulate .

I dont know about H4. But my sis-in-law's mother went to delhi consulate. they gave interview and took entrance fee and everything. After going to the interview, those buggers told them to go back to Chennai and apply there again. It is not guarantee that you will be allowed.
