Hi ,

I applied (for my kids) for a new passport to Consulate General of India, San Francisco as my kids passports are going to expire in a couple of months. They have already have their valid H4 visa stamping till 10-Jun-2005 on their old passport, and they got this stamping in US Consulate, Chennai. Indian consulate will send the old passport with out cancelling the H4 visa and New passport. We are planning to visit India during this summer. My question is Do I need to send the old and new passport to St. Louis / Wasington DC for revalidation or transfering their H4 visa stamping to a New Passport from old passport. or Can they carry both the passports when they visit to India, and what will happen when they are coming back to USA again during this year. Please let me know the procedure if I have to send their passport for revalidation / transfer, and they do not have a seperate H4 approval notice for them. I will appreciate your suggestions / recommendations. Thanks.

No your request for duplicate H4 visa will not be entertained. Just keep carrying both passports until you get a new H4 or other visa stamped in the new passport.
